"Fun is not the reward for getting all of your work done. Laughter is your pressure relief valve." -Lois McElravy
Research reveals that workers list fun as a top priority for job satisfaction, even above salary. Numerous studies show that a fun workplace is not only more productive, but it attracts people and produces profits. Employees are happier, healthier, and work harder. Businesses experience reduced absenteeism and turnover.
Integrating humor into a tense or dull work environment isn't easy. Deteriorating work conditions squash the potential for workers to engage in fun on the job, particularly if upper management suffers from "terminal seriousness." Workers feel limited from expressing humor at work by fears of being misinterpreted, causing offense or lack confidence due to not understanding the do's and don'ts of workplace humor.
In this humor workshop, participants will learn:
Ten benefits of laughter and humor in the workplace
Five barriers that prevent workers from using humor on the job
Seven guidelines to effectively use humor at work
Five tips to unleash your sense of humor without risking your professionalism
Program Length: 60 minute workshop (may be combined with another humor workshop)
