Lois' Brain Injury Event Speaker Bio

3. Program Descriptions

4. Audio/Visual Requirements:

  • Microphone - hand held cordless microphone - with back-up batteries.
  • Lights - turned up so Lois' facial expressions are visible to everyone.
  • CD Player for Character Keynote - accessible for Lois to operate on stage or supply an A/V technician to play the music through the house system.
  • BMI Music License Contract #1289269 - Lois McElravy agrees to assume full responsibility for payment of any and all copyright royalties due for playing music during her performance.
  • Lois does not use power point. She is the presentation.

5.  Room Set-up:

Keynotes - Please use curved theatre seating with side aisles. Position the front row of the audience no further than 8 feet from the front of the stage if possible. Block off back seating until the front of the room is filled. If round tables are used, stagger to improve visibility.

  • Stage - Risen platform high enough for everyone to see Lois' complete body. Minimum 8'wide and 6' deep.
  • Please remove all podiums or lecterns from the stage or set them to the back and side of the stage. Lois does not use a lectern or podium.
  • Please supply a small skirted side table on stage for her notes.
  • Please supply a second small skirted table at the exit of the conference room to display give-aways for each participant to take as they leave.

Workshops or Trainings - Please use classroom seating, curve outside tables in on both sides with participants sitting on one side facing the speaker, or if seating participants on both sides of the table, position the tables perpendicular to the stage, so no one has their back facing the speaker.

6. Additional Requirements:

  • Dressing Room - Lois will need a private dressing room to change into her costume 15 minutes before her presentation. She will stay hidden once she is in costume and wait for someone to notify her that the introduction is starting.
  • Lunch or Dinner Talks - Lois will not eat before speaking, but will ask that you hold her meal until after her talk. All table service must be finished before Lois starts her talk.
  • Program Evaluations - Please supply a room monitor to distribute handouts and the evaluation form before the program, and to collect evaluations at the end of the program. Lois will take evaluations with her and provide the conference planner with a recap of the comments after the conference.
  • Give-Aways - Lois donates one of her audio CD's and one magic wand to be given away by drawing from the completed evaluations.
  • Provide a space at the registration table to hold Lois' audio CD for sale and provide a volunteer to take the money.

7. Travel information - Clients are responsible for all travel, lodging and food expenses. Lois is very conscientious about budgets. She requests to be brought in one full day previous to your conference, so she can recover from the travel and give you her best performance. Typically, the reduction in airfare for the extra day more than covers the additional night's room cost. Lois requests that she work jointly with the planner to make the travel arrangements.
